Space, Enter and Backspace: Basic Text Editing Practice

Practice word segmentation, line breaks and error correction through the local editor to avoid accidentally submitting or deleting text on the web page.

The same key has different functions in different states

When inputting in English, spaces usually separate words; when the Chinese candidate box is opened, spaces may also be used to confirm candidates. Enter is often used to change paragraphs in the editor, and may trigger submission in web forms. Therefore, first look at the current focus and input status, and do not just remember an absolute meaning.

Practice in the ordinary editor first

Enter red blue, then change blue to green, and then write one two on the next line. Observe the cursor position after each operation. Practice using only non-essential text to avoid trying to enter in a real message box and accidentally sending unfinished content.

Confirm to delete the object before backspace

The right and left sides of the cursor and the selected text are different editing objects. In Windows common editing environment, Backspace deletes the characters to the left of the cursor; if the content is selected, the operation may affect the entire selection. In the Chinese combination state, you should also pay attention to whether the encoding or the submitted text is deleted.

How to judge whether you have mastered it

can complete the modification of short sentences without repeated mouse clicks, indicating that basic positioning has progressed. If you delete too much at once, slow down and press the key once instead of pressing and holding it in a hurry. When you return to the typing exercise, type according to the rules of the page; do not assume that all editor operations will work for the timed test.
