Typing Not Responding? Check Focus, Input Method and Keyboard

Use short text comparison to distinguish web page out-of-focus, candidate unconfirmed and system keyboard response setting issues.

First do a minimum check

Click the area that currently needs to be entered and enter only a simple character. Observe whether there is no change at all, a candidate appears, or the character appears elsewhere. Don't type the entire sentence in one go, otherwise it will be difficult to know where to start with the exception. When the web page is not ready yet, wait for the state to end before starting.

Compare in local editor

If the same key can be input in the editor but not on the web page, focus on checking the page focus and operation steps; if you cannot input on both sides, further check the connection, layout and system settings. Record observations instead of repeatedly refreshing until occasional recovery and then ending the investigation.

Pay attention to auxiliary settings and combination status

The official troubleshooting instructions for Apple point out that settings such as slow keys will change the conditions for key recognition. If you rely on these functions, you should understand and adjust the appropriate parameters and do not turn them off altogether. When a Chinese candidate is not confirmed, the lack of immediate appearance of the final Chinese character should not be regarded as a non-response.

What information is helpful for feedback

Describe the system, browser, input method, practice language, and "what to do first, what to press next, and what appears". Use made-up phrases as examples and avoid submitting passwords and recovery codes. If only a certain key continues to be abnormal, it is easier to locate it by testing it separately from adjacent keys than simply saying "all cannot be typed".
