Getting Started with Wubi: Separate Character Analysis and Typing

After determining the Wubi plan, arrange training according to split understanding, key positioning and candidate confirmation.

First confirm the solution you are using

Wubi learning materials and input method solutions should correspond, and coding rules of different versions cannot be memorized together. Record the input method name and scheme before you begin, and use the scheme's own root list and description. This article provides practice organization methods and does not replace the complete root and split character teaching materials.

Compared with Pinyin, the main difficulty you may encounter is not the pronunciation, but not knowing how to split the characters after seeing them, or knowing the encoding but being slow to find the key. Only by determining which level the difficulty lies can you arrange effective exercises.

Separate understanding from finger movements

For words that cannot be split, first check the splitting process according to the plan information, and then enter after understanding. If you already know the codes but are slow to press the keys, you can practice the corresponding letter combinations briefly. Do not guess splits, find keys, and select words at the same time under time pressure, as this will easily reinforce mistakes repeatedly.

Prepare your own small list: original words, scheme used, correct encoding, reasons for confusion. A smaller list makes it easier to review; there is no need to collect dozens of new words at once.

Check candidates before going to screen

Microsoft The official description of Wubi provides candidate selection operations. In actual use, you should confirm that the current candidate is consistent with the practice text before submitting. The settings and shortcut keys of different input methods may be different. In particular, do not apply the Enter behavior in Pinyin directly to Wubi.

Today’s practice

Select five words that you use every day but are unfamiliar with. First check the splitting instructions of the corresponding plan, and then put a short word and a sentence into each. After practicing, change the text to verify. If you are still stuck on splitting, go back and understand the rules; if it is just slow to find the keys, arrange key connection exercises next time.
