How to Type é, ñ and ü: Accented Character Practice

First confirm the system layout and input method, and then put the accented characters into short words and sentences for verification.

accented characters need to be retained according to the original text

The input cafe cannot be used in place of café in all transcription tasks. See the target character clearly first, and then confirm that the system can produce it. Website language switching does not change the system layout for you, nor does it guarantee that every required character is printed on the keycaps.

Choose the method that suits your equipment

The official description for Apple describes holding down letters to select accents, as well as typing via key combinations, while noting that not all apps support the same behavior. Other systems should check their own layout instructions. Start timing after you are familiar with the operation, and do not regard the process of checking the keystrokes as a result of proficient input.

Practice putting the characters back into words

First practice the single-character output of é, ñ, and ü, and then add familiar short words and new sentences. Don't just practice isolated characters, as real text also involves surrounding letters, upper and lower case, and spaces. When encountering results that appear to be the same but do not match, first check the actual characters with the target.

Today’s practice and inspection

Choose three accented words that you will actually use, confirm the spelling and input method and write two short sentences each. Practice again in another order, and record whether you are stuck in operation or reading. Use only the characters you need and gradually expand. You don't have to learn all the symbols of the language on the first day.
