Traditional Chinese Typing: Input Methods and Character Conversion

Checks the glyphs and word usage according to the target text, and records the performance of Pinyin, Zhuyin or other input methods respectively.

Traditional Chinese text is more than just a keyboard

The practice language determines the content of the question, and the system input method determines how you generate text. When using Pinyin, Zhuyin or other solutions, you need to first confirm that the final output conforms to the target glyph. Switching the website to Traditional Chinese interface does not mean that the operating system automatically switches the input mode.

Don’t treat Simplified and Traditional conversion as a universal replacement

Some words are used differently in different regions, and the automatic conversion results also need to be checked. When typing according to the original text, process it according to the target text and do not replace it with familiar expressions. If you are just practicing input movements, first choose commonly used content that you can understand, and gradually add unfamiliar glyphs.

Keep conditions stable for the same task

Record the input method and scheme used respectively, and then compare the progress. The operations of Pinyin and Zhuyin are different, and the numbers in one test cannot be regarded as a general conclusion about the quality of the input method. First, see if you can steadily choose the right words, handle punctuation, and complete the essay.

Today’s practice and inspection

Select a traditional Chinese passage with a familiar theme, read the unfamiliar glyphs clearly, and then enter the original text. List the words that are often converted or wrongly selected separately and put them into new short sentences for retest. If the system output is always Simplified Chinese, check the input method settings before continuing the timing.
