Improve accuracy
Should You Use Backspace During a Typing Test?
distinguishes error correction targets in exercises, speed tests, and real documents to avoid covering up input problems with large-scale deletions.
Error correction rules should be determined before starting
Working documents need to have the final content as correct as possible; typing training also needs to know how errors are made. Exercises that allow backspace are suitable for learning corrections, but this does not mean that all statistics will be restored after deletion. The vocabulary description of edclub distinguishes between the corrected accuracy and the true accuracy of the first input.
This site will also record the impact of some process errors on accuracy. Therefore, when the result is lower than the correct proportion of the final text you see, first recall whether there have been a lot of deletions, rather than immediately identifying the result as abnormal.
Do not press continuously after making an error
If a character error is found, confirm the cursor and error position first, and then perform necessary deletion. If you delete a few more characters in a panic, what started out as a mistake can turn into a longer rework. When practicing, you can write down the process: what went wrong, how much was deleted, and how to restore it.
When the Chinese candidate has not yet appeared on the screen, backspace usually modifies the code being combined first. At this time, you should look at the candidate or combination area, and do not guess how many times it needs to be deleted based on the number of Chinese characters that have been submitted.
is trained separately with two tasks
One task is to complete the article normally, allowing error correction according to the rules; the other is to enter a short paragraph slowly and observe whether the first input is stable. The two results are understood separately. Don’t skip over difficult words just to make the accuracy numbers look better, and don’t deliberately leave errors in your work documents in pursuit of no backspaces.
Today’s practice
Select a short text, enter it naturally and correct errors in the first round, and reduce the speed in the second round to try to get it right the first time. Record the number of deletes and the sense of completion in both rounds. If the second round seems slow, but the whole sentence is completed faster, it means that reducing rework is a direction worth practicing now.
