How to Check for Typing Errors: A Three-Pass Review

checks for omissions, key characters and punctuation separately, allowing proofreading to be in order and evaluated together with input speed.

What is easy to miss at a glance?

Understanding the meaning of a sentence does not mean that every character is correct. Even if names, numbers, negative words and dates are entered incorrectly, the entire sentence may still be read smoothly. Proofreading exercises should target important parts of the task and not rely solely on the feeling that "it looks OK".

Arrange different tasks for verification

The first round checks whether there are missing sentences or repeated paragraphs; the second round checks numbers, proper names and keywords separately; the third round checks punctuation, spaces and capitalization. This order is an example of flexibility and not all documents must follow the same process. Knowing what you are looking for each round will give you more clarity than rereading aimlessly.

Record the total time of input and proofreading

can be finished faster but takes longer to repair, which does not necessarily improve work efficiency. Compare it with fictional materials of the same type, and record the initial errors, errors found during proofreading, and the final results. Don't directly interpret no errors found in one round as being 100% correct.

Today’s practice and inspection

Write a simulated notice containing date, quantity and negative words. Enter the original text and check it in three rounds. Please check again after a while to see if there is anything missing. Next time, practice on the types of content that are most likely to be missed, instead of just shortening the input time.
