How to Choose Articles for Typing Practice
Select articles based on reading, punctuation density and practical use to avoid changes in subject matter covering up skill progress.
Choose content you can understand first
During training input, if most of the words are unknown, the task will become reading and word search. Novices should first choose materials with familiar topics and short sentences, and then add unfamiliar content after they become proficient. More difficult articles do not automatically mean more effective training.
See three difficulties clearly
The difficulty of reading comes from vocabulary and sentence structure, the difficulty of movement comes from key positions and symbols, and the difficulty of operation may come from input method and language switching. By adding just one of these when choosing a topic, it will be easier to know where the pauses are coming from. Rare Chinese characters and English technical abbreviations can be left to the special project stage.
Stay connected to practical purposes
If you need to write an email, add a short notification, if you need to enter numbers, add a fictitious number, and if you need to work in Chinese and English, arrange mixed arrangements. Literary excerpts are suitable for extending the scope of the text, but they do not need to be considered the only material. The text used for training can be repeated, and new questions will be retained for evaluation.
Today’s practice and inspection
Select an easy article, a moderate article, and an obviously difficult article from the article library, and read a short paragraph of each first. Choose the one that is understandable and slightly challenging to complete the exercise. After you finish, note down what you found difficult and adjust accordingly next time, rather than just selecting topics based on the length of the article.
