Measuring Your Starting Typing Level: A Baseline Template

records language, mode, duration, device and error type to provide consistent conditions for subsequent progress comparisons.

The baseline is the starting point, not the ranking

The most valuable part of the first result is that it leaves behind comparable conditions. If you only save a number, you will not be able to explain the change if you change the language or question type later. Before you start, write down whether you want to know about key familiarity or general article input ability.

records these basic information

Language, text type, timing duration, keyboard layout, device, input method, speed and accuracy can all be written in one line. Let me add the most obvious reason for the pause. There is no need to record sensitive text, just use the article title or self-made material number.

Use complete attempts to retain the true state

Familiarize yourself with page operations first, and then do a complete test. Don't restart immediately if you make a mistake at the start, otherwise the baseline only represents the smooth situation after selection. If there is an obvious accidental touch or external interruption, indicate the reason and reschedule it for the next time, rather than quietly deleting all low scores.

Today’s practice and inspection

Create a line of templates and complete two tests with similar conditions, taking breaks as needed. Look at the difference in results and the reasons, and then choose the focus of subsequent training. Try to keep the conditions similar when retesting in the future, use several performances to judge the trend, and do not draw conclusions for yourself after one change.
